I have always had a deep love for the outdoors and hiking. Which was probably instilled from my mom dragging me and my siblings out to go on walks/hikes as a kid. We went to a lot of different places around and outside of San Antonio, like Frederick Park where we got lost for like 4 hours. But we also went to national parks like Garner, Lost Maples, and Yellowstone! All of these places were extremely beautiful and I am so grateful to my mom for taking us to them.
I continue the hard earn tradition of dragging the poeple I love out on hikes! One of my favorites is a couple of summers ago when I forced 2 of my brothers, Julio and Thomas, to go on a hike with me at Eisenhower Park. We did forget to check the weather though and it POURED rain on us. But we did not accept defeat and soldiered on! Currently, I now drag my roommate Gray out of the house to go on early morning hikes with me. She is sometimes grumpy and yes she did almost get heat exhaustion one time, but they are still fun and I love showing her my favorite spots.
Being outside is when I feel most in tuned with myself and mother nature. If I could I would genuinely be out in nature all the time, especially if it wasn't Texas and 1,000 degress outside. Any time I feel anxious, going on a hike at Purgatory is always a great reset. Now that i'm an adult now I want to continue to explore State Parks and even places that I might've been before as a kid. I also want to explore around Europe, especially Ireland and Iceland.
