Hi! My name is Angelica Gil and I am an Electronic Media and Theatre major, with a concentration in Performance and Production, at TXST. I am pursuing my Bachelors in both and eventually intend on working in the theatre, film, TV, and broadcasting industries. From a young age, while I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do, I knew for sure I didn't want to have just one job, which is partly why I chose this field! The other reason is because I love stories and exploring the different ways they can be told. My favorite method of story telling though will always be the creative world of stop motion animation.
Experience wise, I definitely have the most in theatre and film, but I am excited to continue learning about broadcasting! In film, I have directed and co-written a short film called "What Are You Thinking", filmed and edited a short documentary, and assistant directed other short films. Theatrically, I have directed and staged scenes, costume designed, sound designed, and operated a sound board for TXST's Romeo and Juliet. While I definitely prefer the tech sides of each industry, I also appreicate the acting. I have acted in multiple scenes, a webseries call "Dial 8 to Date", and worked as a scare actor last year at House of Torment which was really fun.
Outside of all the tech stuff I also have a job working as a Zipline Tour Guide, which is definintely the jackpot of college jobs. And since its in the hill country theres also many adorable creatures! Last summer we had a toad that lived in a tree hole that I named Carl and two foxes that would visit and we'd give scraps to. Currently, there's a huge lizard we named Rocky who sometimes comes out to sunbathe and watch us zipline. But i've also seen jackrabbits, roadrunners, armadillos, a tarantula, and turkeys for some reason.
